My Locks of Love!

Today I cut 10 inches of my hair to donate to Locks of Love. This was something I had wanted to do for a while after seeing my friends do it and reading their website (Locks of Love). I had my girlfriends here help me in their own special way: Leslie spent time with me at Barnes and Noble going through hair magazines to chose the right style, my sister and friends sent me words of encouragement, and Audrey came with me to photograph and calm me. It was amazing to receive all the love I did and afterwards to get complimented and congratulated. This made me imagine when the kid finally receives their hairpiece how they will experience the same feelings on the receiving end. That makes me smile!
Before picture! I got my haircut at Aveda in Alamoana Shopping Center.
This was the longest my hair has ever been from what I can remember.
My hairdresser, Dana, knew exactly what to do and made me feel comfortable.
I like this picture because you can see Audrey in the background and my worried face.
AAAAAAGH! This is what I was thinking here. The sound of the snipping and the weight lifted off of me felt weird!
Yay I did it!!!
My new haircut, still wet.
Trying to learn how to style my new hair.
My buddy Audrey who was so nice to patiently watch me and take pictures. We ate lunch afterwards at California Pizza Kitchen and shopped around the mall a little.
After picture!
It is just long enough to put into a cute little ponytail! I am so happy I did it and proud that I won over my ego! Maybe I will do it again the next leap year?!

I should have done that 2 years ago, cause my hair was a few inches from my waistline. but now reading your blog ... i think i will remember that i can donate my hair! i hope everything's going great in hawaii!
