I left my heart in San Francisco

From Stockton we drove down to San Francisco- thank goodness for GPS! We got to SF in less than 2 hours and met my old friend Matthew Paille at his restaurant in the SOMA district.

Here's Matt hard at work!

The restaurant

Matt let us use his corporate discount to get a hotel room at the Marriot in the heart of SF. It was beautiful! Matt was really busy running the restaurant and doing a catering but he still found time to see us.

Heaven!!

We went to dinner that night at his place- it was amazing! He kept sending out a little bit of everything from the menu. What a treat!
Chef Matt!

This was my favorite dish- butternut squash soup but it was so different than I've ever had before and warmed us right up.

We spent Saturday walking around the city. This was an art show at Union Square.

Matt stopping by to visit on his way to work

Says it all...

I was amazed at this fire escape and the lighting.

The Ferry Building- one of the highlights of our trip! Outside there was a farmers market and craft fair and inside were little shops with everything you could imagine.

This is the building for ferries to dock at. This is a view of the Bay Bridge.

Acme bread where I got a lot of omiyage!

Last but not least we hit up Victoria Secret= happiness!

Last look out of our hotel room. I love you SF!

The next morning we woke up really early and drove back up to Sacramento to catch our flight home. So sad but we were ready to get back to the warmth!
